Planning Primary Research
In this term, we must develop primary and secondary research well, as primary research for my project since I based my project a lot on the result of 2D I started studying manga drawing to be able to draw my finished works with mannequins inspired by manga drawing obviously leaving my style too. As in the initial research of the previous posts, I went to see collaborations between fashion and manga, and in fact, I had many inspirations.
We start from the assumption that it is not easy to change your drawing style in creating collections but being a project that belongs to me and being that I have always loved the manga drawing style it will be a new experience and also skill to add to my luggage of notions. I started my process starting from Pinterest being that through this application I have many images saved on this theme. I started looking at different types of drawings that were done on this manga and which of these could be my style and take details and then create my model or final models. I know perfectly well that Pinterest is not an accepted app during these projects but in this case, it was very helpful to me to start having a broader overview of what kind of silhouettes I could create for my final collection.
I start by putting several images that I am drawing inspiration from for my final collection:
This drawing captured me for the simplicity of the lines in creating the face and also of the hands. Also, the fact of colors probably amplifies the attraction to the drawing based also on the eye and also on what I consider beautiful and interesting in a drawing.
As you can understand from the drawing, the artist was inspired by the type of drawing of the JoJo manga, in a previous post I talked about this manga, and above all, I also talked about the collaboration called Spur, this drawing inspired me from the point of view that they change maybe only small details the drawing of the face can become more decisive and marked while remaining fine at the same time as the artist has not marked as in the manga itself.
For me, this is a bit more complex drawing since I am not very good at drawing details of the face and I would like to give the dwarf face in my collection. So already seeing and starting to get an idea of what I should go drawing to practice drawing. A detail that struck me in this drawing was also the factor of the sentence at the bottom: "the singer with ambitions", since Nana since the mangaka represents her makes us understand her greatest ambition, which is to become a professed singer.
The factor that attracts me to the manga is precisely the fact that these artists are able to recreate the garments only in black and white to give the reader the opportunity to fantasize about the color of the outfits. And this is no small feat as it gives us the possibility to set our fantasies in motion and to dream of different types of color combinations.
