Set Project: First Thoughts

For my project, I wanted to look for an artistic current that came close to the meaning that the purple color represents or is associated with royalty, magic, mystery, and piety. The runs that most I thought came close to two concepts that represent purple is magic and mystery. 

As already mentioned in the previous post I would like to focus on trying to create a collection of six garments, this is also a way to get involved both in terms of design but also from the point of view of imagination in creating real clothes from an idea. For this reason, I thought of incorporating within my project an artistic current that would reflect the purple color but also have the possibility to range from the creative point of view and be inspired by paintings or works of art. 

I started thinking about incorporating art into my project thanks to the inspiration given to me by the Schiaparelli Haute Couture spring-summer 2021 fashion show. In the Haute Couture spring-summer 2021 collection, the Schiaparelli heritage returns more prominent than ever, marking the designer's ascension to the role of fabric artist. The starting idea is that of a sculptural fashion: the dress preserves within itself the essence of the material, which is ductile, malleable, it is the marble of the designer who projects on it images destined to remain unchanged and unchanging with the passing some years.

Respecting this fil rouge with clarity and exceptional coherence, each creation stands as part of a pictorial exhibition of the body and its infinite possibilities: it is living in a dress that gives it life, meaning, magic. The pomposity that is the bride and emblem of Haute Couture is here denied, in favor of a futuristic aesthetic that opens from the physical to space and infinity, translating the imagination into the concrete dimension and allowing inspiration to play on the proportions of the bust, legs, and shoulders, in an architectural construct of majestic beauty.

So I started reading my high school art book as it contains all the artistic currents and obviously to develop my project I need to know more about this artistic current that has developed in Italy thanks to Giorgio De Chirico. 

In terms of the actual concept for this series, I think this will require further reflection and experimentation with ideas to see where it might lead me ...
